Manchester United has announced that Wayne Rooney, the club's all time highest goal scorer with 253 goals has just signed for his boyhood club, Everton on a free transfer, after Man U offered to buy out his remaining contract, in a deal that involved the £75m capture of Romelu Lukaku.
Rooney, left Everton 13 years ago as an 18 year old to join the Old Trafford club and ever since then his career hasn't looked back winning every possible trophy a club could garner in the European continent.
In a 15-year career, Rooney has won the
Champions League, Europa League, five Premier League titles, one FA Cup, three League Cups and one FIFA Club World Cup and scored 323 goals.
There's been plenty of new faces at Everton in recent weeks.
Jordan Pickford , Davy Klaassen , Sandro Ramirez, Henry Onyekuru and Michael Keane have all come in as welcome signings to Ronald Koeman's squad for the 2017/18 season.
